HMS Hythe (1905)

Built in 1905, the HMS Hythe was originally constructed as a civilian ferry and was converted into an auxiliary minesweeper by the Royal Navy in 1914. The vessel’s total length reaches 195.3 ft (~59.5 m).

On October 28, 1915, the HMS Hythe sank within 10 minutes following a collision with the HMS Sarnia off the coast of Seddülbahir. Discovered in 2022 by Selçuk Kolay, the wreck is now considered one of the most significant sites for shipwreck diving in Türkiye, lying at a depth of approximately 72 meters.
