History

History of the HMS Triumph

It is a Swiftsure-class battleship belonging to the British Royal Navy. Its construction was completed by Vickers, Barrow, and it entered service on January 15, 1903. It served in the Channel Fleet, protecting the southern coasts of England, until March 1909, when it was dispatched to the Mediterranean. Additionally, when World War I broke out, it was assigned to the campaign against Tsingtao, which was supported by Japanese forces. In January 1915, it arrived off the Dardanelles to take part in the Gallipoli Campaign. On May 25, 1915, while bombarding Gaba Tepe, it was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-21 in one and a half hours, going down with 73 crew members on board.
